Sailability

GBSC members may have recently spotted three extremely pretty new arrivals to the dinghy park. These 2.4R mini-keelboats are the latest additions to the national Sailability fleet. The striking resemblance to America's Cup boats (pre '87) is no coincidence, as the design is modelled on the 12mr rule. Our thanks are due to Ciaran Murphy, who organised and delivered the boats, and to Mark Kelly, Walter McInerney & Oisin Higgins who spent many hours rigging them.

Yesterday was another exciting milestone for GBSC Sailability, with summer conditions for the much anticipated launch. Sailors were Mark Kelly, Gary Allen, Walter McInerney and a delighted Mark Henderson. The boat performed beautifully, proving very responsive and quick even in light conditions. Keep an eye out for us on the water, before all three boats leave for a stint at each of the Sailability clubs throughout Ireland.
